State Medalists, Unbeaten Fall Champs Head to The Canfield Fall Open

CANFIELD, OH — OhioQuest heads to Mahoning County this Saturday, November 7, for The Canfield Fall Open at Canfield High School. With two days left to register, better than 300 wrestlers are expected, and competitors from 52 clubs across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New York are already entered. This is a look at some of the competitors currently registered, with many more to follow.

As always, this will be a lightning-fast tournament. Most weight classes should finish in two hours or less, so families get in, wrestle and get home.

The season’s winningest in the building

Travis Chapman comes in at 12-1 this season. Only four of the 509 wrestlers who have competed on the OhioQuest/PennQuest circuit this fall have more wins. He has titles at Stow and Rootstown, 10 of his 12 wins came by bonus points (4 pins, 5 tech falls), and he’ll be one of the names to watch in Open HS.

Unbeaten and looking to stay that way

Four entrants haven’t lost on the circuit this season:

The host club shows up big

Canfield is the biggest team in the building so far with 20 entries. Raegan Lucas leads them. She was a 2026 OhioQuest State Championships medalist (3rd, Girls Div IV) and won the Girls 12U title at the Boardman Kickoff Classic. State placers Averie Bourgerie and Layla Doran also wrestle for the hometown Cardinals.

More fall champions

Blink and you’ll miss it: Hunter Davis (Boardman Spartans) has the second-fastest pin of the entire season at 8 seconds.

Brackets to watch

OhioQuest builds weight classes after registration closes, so nothing is set yet. Still, a few groups could be loaded:
